Black – true black – is the absence of light. Darkness is defined by what it is not, by the lack of something else. When we say a black hole, we truly mean that; black. Blacker than black. An absence of not only light, but of time, distance, anything.
The night was scary when I was little. I hated the dark, but couldn’t bear to sleep so long as the light was on, any light, burning on the other side of my eyelids. I used to have nightmares about dark things in dark corners, shadowy figures with shadowy fingers trailing along my spine. I always woke up cold and fumbling frantically for the lamp, but the aura o

A Moment Beyond Judgment
Every day sat under the beating eyes of judgment
Every minor motion made with question and caution
Every breath, sneeze, and cough made quiet
Suffocating when someone looks
Throat clenching when they laugh
Their whispers and sideways glances closing in
Yet so much is merely in my head.
Then a day with thoughts set free
No, not a day, a moment
A moment of no worry
No clouded constricting thoughts
I know not for never before had I been such way
But there was one moment
When the world brightened
And mind held no concern toward judgment
It was a moment of freedom.
In a room filled with people
Yet there was no suffocation
As if thick air gave
Pain
Pain is a illusion
Created simply by the mind to combat
Fear
But when you have a fear of pain
thats when it all goes
Whack
And reality creeps out the back
door
Because if pains an illusion
created only to combat fear
then why are you still there
And i am still
